How did you get started in bodybuilding/fitness?
I have always been athletic, I played volleyball, basketball, ran cross country and did Tae Kwon Do when I was a kid but as I got into my later teens I became more interested in hanging out with my friends then being active. When I met my husband in my early 20’s he introduced me to the gym and I have been hooked ever since.
What is your favorite and least favorite body parts to train?
I am glute obsessed, mostly because I was a skinny girl with a flat pancake butt and I have been on a mission to change that. I LOVE training legs/glutes and usually work them 2-3 times a week. I absolutely hate training my arms, mostly because I find the workouts boring.
Do you do any other types of training besides weight training? (Boxing, MMA, CrossFit, ect)
I really enjoy kickboxing/boxing for conditioning, it’s always a great workout and never gets easier. I also recently started taking yoga, it’s improved my flexibility and helped with some ongoing back issues I have.
Can you give us a sample of your routine?
I train 5-6 days a week, a typical week would look like this:
Mon- Legs & Abs/Sprints
Tues- Back
Wed-Shoulders, Abs & Glutes/ Spin Bike Intervals
Thur- REST
Fri-Full Body Conditioning/Yoga
Sat-Spin Bike Intervals/Shoulders, Chest, Arms & Abs
Sun- 5-10km Run
What kind of music do you listen to when you are working out?
It really depends what kind of mood I am in. I listen to anything from house, alternative rock, rap and some heavy metal.
We all have at least one, what is the most embarrassing song on your iPod?
I have quite a few Backstreet Boys songs…
What does your diet look like when you are trying to get lean?
I stay fairly lean year round so my diet doesn’t change much when I am trying to lose a few pounds. I eat whole foods 5-6 times a day and drink 3-4 liters of water. If I really want to tighten up I cut back on my peanut butter consumption, I’m a bit of an addict.

What kind of cardio do you like best and why?
I have always been a runner, there is something so freeing about getting on a trail, putting in your headphones and just going.
If you could give somebody only one fitness tip what would it be?
Stop comparing yourself to others.
Tell us about your biggest fitness influence?
I wouldn’t say there is one person in particular; I look up to women who can maintain a fairly lean physique year round while still keeping balance in their life.
