Ok let’s get right to it. The ingredients. This is where you can find out if a pre-workout is any good. They may have good marketing, but they can’t hide bad ingredients.

Let’s take a look at what is in Blackwolf.

 

Citrulline Malate 6000mg

Citrulline, an amino acid commonly found in watermelons, offers numerous benefits for athletic performance. It has been scientifically demonstrated to enhance aerobic performance and muscle endurance [1,2]. Notably, it is even more effective than L-Arginine in boosting nitric oxide levels [3]. While many people associate the tingling sensation with this ingredient when taking a pre-workout, its benefits go beyond that.

 

Beta-Alanine 3200mg

Beta Alanine is a very common ingredient in many pre-workouts and has been shown to decrease muscle fatigue during intense exercise [4]. It also plays a role in increasing overall muscle strength [5], improving muscle endurance and total work capacity [6], and even promoting lean muscle mass while reducing fat in wrestlers [7]. These benefits make Beta-Alanine a noteworthy addition to any workout regimen.

I should note that the 3200mg dosage is pretty generous. You will definitely feel a tingle.

 

Creatine Monohydrate 3000mg

Creatine is the best muscle and strength-building supplement you can buy (legally). There are many forms of creatine out there nowadays, but none of them have conclusively been proven to be better than creatine monohydrate. The creatine dosage of 3000mg in this pre-workout is a pretty good dose that will definitely help you get stronger and increase muscle protein synthesis, so long as you take it regularly.

 

Betaine Anhydrous 2000mg

Betaine, a beneficial compound naturally occurring in beets, leafy greens, and greens powders, has demonstrated its ability to combat fatigue when consumed before and during weight training [8,9]. Notably, it has been proven to enhance performance by increasing the total number of repetitions achieved during the bench press in comparison to a placebo [8].

 

L-Arginine

L-Arginine is an amino acid commonly found in pre-workout supplements. It plays a role in the production of nitric oxide, which helps relax and dilate blood vessels, resulting in improved blood flow. By enhancing blood circulation, L-Arginine can potentially increase nutrient and oxygen delivery to muscles during exercise, leading to improved endurance and performance. This is all a bunch of fancy talk to tell you that L-Arganine helps you get serious muscle pumps and veins.

 

Caffeine Anhydrous 200mg

You can get Blackwolf with or without caffeine. You know what caffeine does, but I will tell you anyway. Caffeine gives you energy and increased alertness to give you a boost in exercise performance. It can also cause side effects like jitters and insomnia.

 

L-Tyrosine 600mg

L-Tyrosine, an amino acid, possesses remarkable benefits that contribute to mental focus, endurance, and stress reduction Its positive effects extend to enhancing memory and performance, particularly in challenging environments like cold climates[9]. By incorporating L-Tyrosine into your supplementation regimen, you can potentially experience improved cognitive function, heightened mental acuity, and increased resilience when faced with demanding physical and mental tasks.

The dose of L-Tyrosine is a little on the low side compared to other top pre-workout supplements.

 

Taurine 1000mg

Taurine, an important amino acid, holds essential significance in pre-workout supplementation. It plays a crucial role in conjunction with beta-alanine. Without sufficient taurine levels, the supplementation of beta-alanine alone can potentially result in taurine deficiency [10].

 

Dynamine 125mg

Dynamine is an ingredient that is similar to caffiene but without side effects. And when you use caffiene it is said to make the enegy last longer with fewer side effects. That said, there still isn’t a lot of research on Dynamine and its effectiveness or side effects.

 

Coconut Water Powder 320mg

Coconut powder is commonly used in pre-workouts as a source of carbohydrates and electrolytes. It provides a natural and easily digestible form of energy, helping to fuel exercise performance and sustain endurance. Additionally, coconut powder contains essential minerals like potassium, magnesium, and sodium, which play a crucial role in maintaining proper hydration and supporting optimal muscle function during exercise.

 

Bioperine 5mg

BioPerine®, a patented extract derived from black pepper fruits (Piper nigrum), is standardized to contain a minimum of 95% Piperine. It is widely utilized to enhance the bioavailability in pre-workouts and other supplements. Studies have demonstrated that BioPerine® can increase the absorption of nutrients by at least 30%, thereby improving their effectiveness and utilization by the body.

 

DMAE 125MG – Only in the caffeine-free version

How I Got My Blackwolf Pre-Workout

While most people order theirs from the Blackwolf website I actually got mine for free. When I ordered a 2 months supply of Testogen they also gave me three packets of Blackwolf—one of each flavor which was a pleasant surprise. I never turn down free supplements.

Since I have all three flavors, I tried them out to see which was the best. The Fruit Punch was the best by a very small margin over the Blue Raspberry. Green Apple was in third place, it was still good but not as good as the other 2. Overall though, all three over them were good and above average.

Keep in mind the Fruit Punch flavor does not have caffiene in it, so if you want caffiene, the Blue Raspberry is the best-tasting option.

All three of them mixed well and didn’t have any weird aftertaste or anything. The Green Apple did have a pretty strong Green Apple smell, though, when I opened the package.

 

Experience With Blackwolf Pre-Workout

After I drank the pre-workout I did get the tingles a bit, as you would expect with a 3200 mg dose of Beta-Alanine. It wasn’t as strong of a tingle as I expected though, I have definitely had more. I’m not really a huge fan of the tingle, though, so I’m glad it wasn’t that strong.

I seemed to have a bit more energy during my workout and maybe a bit more focus too.

I didn’t really notice any muscle pumps, but I honestly wasn’t thinking about it when I was lifting. If they were improved I didn’t notice.

Overall I would say it was a pretty good experience. I would use it again and think it most of you out there will like it.

Any Side Effects With Blackwolf Pre-Workout?

I did experience side effects when I used Blackwolf. First off there were the tingles which is pretty typical and expected.

I also noticed I really had to go to the bathroom, if you get my drift (not number one). That is also pretty typical with pre-workout supplements.

Aside from that, I didn’t notice any other side effects, but you may experience jitteriness, insomnia, or an upset stomach. If you want to keep the side effects to a minimum I would go with the caffeine-free version.

 

Price for Blackwolf Pre-Workout

As of the time I am writing this, Blackwolf costs $2.24 per serving, which is on the high side. There is no savings when you buy in bulk but there is free shipping in the USA which definitely helps.

 

What I Liked About Blackwolf Pre-Workout

  • I liked that it contains 3 grams of creatine per serving. Creatine is my favorite muscle and strength-building supplement by far, and it’s like having two supplements in one.
  • I’m glad that they offer a caffiene free version. Not everyone wants to get all jacked up on caffiene all the time. It’s nice that you can choose if you want the caffeine or not.
  • I liked the taste. Fruit Punch and Blue Raspberry were both really good. The Green Apple was also pretty good but not as good as the other 2.
  • They also use a transparent formula. No proprietary blends to hide the dosages or anything like that. Just straightforward labeling like it should be.

What I Didn’t Like About BlackWolf Pre.Workout

  • Unfortunately, the price is definitely on the high side for a pre-workout. The good part is it also contains creatine so you can think of it as 2 supplements in one.
  • They also used artificial sweeteners, which I don’t really like. I will still use supplements with artificial sweeteners but I would prefer if it were naturally flavored even if it means it doesn’t taste as good.
  • If I really want to knit pick the dose of L-Trosine was a little on the low side. Overall the ingredients were good though.

 

Conclusion For BlackWolf Pre-Workout Review

Overall, Blackwolf pre-workout is a very solid supplement, especially for those looking to add muscle and strength. I like that it is available with or without caffiene. If you are looking for a pre-workout that tastes good then this will be a good selection for you as well, all three flavors were good. It also delivered a good pre-workout experience.

The only drawbacks to this supplement are that it is a bit above average in price and it uses artificial sweeteners. If you can get past that you will like Blackwolf.

Overall this is a pre-workout that I would recommend.

For me, it took about 10 minutes for the pre-workout to kick in and I could start feeling the tingle and energy boost. I would say 15 minutes or so is more the norm though.

How often should I take Blackwolf pre-workout?

I would only use Blackwolf on training days and would certainly only use it once a day. It is best to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
