Most people find that losing weight is a difficult process without supplementation. Diet pills and other supplements curb the appetite and offer you more energy. You must still eat a healthy diet in order to lose weight. Forget about counting calories, and focus on replacing unhealthy food choices with foods that are not processed. Fresh fruits and vegetables are close to the way nature intended without being processed. Counting calories is difficult and not necessary to lose the weight you want.

Many people think they must starve themselves in order to lose weight. That is simply not true. If your body detects you are starving yourself, then your metabolism slows down to compensate. A slower metabolism is not the way to lose weight. A healthy diet with foods that are fibrous will make you feel satisfied. Dietary supplements can help you get through the first few days while changing your diet.


Get used to drinking a lot of water for good health. Replace sugary sodas and juices with plain water and watch a few pounds melt away. Instead of weighing yourself on a scale, consider finding a pair of slacks that are one or two sizes too small. Simply try these on every few days to monitor your weight loss progress.


Relying on the scale and counting calories will only make you obsess about your weight. Make sure you are sleeping at least eight hours each night. Reduce your intake of carbohydrates that offer no nutritional value like white bread. The body prefers carbohydrates for energy but stores it as fat when it is not needed. A sedentary lifestyle with a high carbohydrate diet is a recipe for weight gain.



It has been said many times that exercise speeds up your metabolism. Your metabolism is the key to losing weight. It regulates the speed of digestion and gives you energy. All forms of exercise increase your metabolism. Choose an activity that you enjoy. It does not have to be a strict exercise program. You can start with cleaning house at a brisk pace. Look for opportunities to stay active like walking around the mall.

Counting calories is no longer needed in order to lose the weight and keep it off.


Supplements can help as well but I personally would advise working out your diet before you begin looking into supplements. Supplements have their place but they are not a magic pill.
