What is Flyby Hangover Supplement?
It’s a product made up of all-natural ingredients designed to prevent hangover symptoms. Eddie Huai is the founder and realized the potential of hangover supplements when on a trip to South Korea.
Apparently, hangover remedies are a big business out there. After testing the products in South Korea, he realized they really work so he went on a mission to use what he learned to create his very own Flyby supplement.
How Does Flyby Work?
To really understand how Flyby works, we need to cover how hangovers are caused in the first place.
Putting it simply, alcohols are metabolized by your liver which produces toxic by-products known as “free radicals”. These are highly reactive molecules which damage the cells in your body.
Your liver produces antioxidants which swoop around the body neutralizing free radicals.
When drinking, this system is pushed over the edge pretty quickly leading to a build-up of those toxic by-products of alcohol.
Hangover supplements like Flyby work by providing your liver with the raw ingredients it needs to regenerate antioxidants and boost liver function.
Who is Flyby For?
Flyby is designed for your average social drinker. It’s no magic cure so if you’re planning to get wasted, then nothing much will help.
On the other hand, if you’re going for a few mid-week drinks with work colleagues or having a few glasses of wine at the weekend, then Flyby could be for you.
But is it the best product on the market?
The only real way to tell whether Flyby works is to take a close look at exactly what’s in it.
The first thing we notice is that Flyby uses a proprietary blend. You’ll often see manufacturers hide their ingredients in a “prop blend” and claim its because they have a secret formula.
In actual fact, it’s just much cheaper to manufacture their product with a proprietary blend so its only a way of cutting costs and increasing profits.
As a result, you’re left with a product where you don’t actually know the exact doses of their main ingredients.
With that being said, let’s see what’s in their formula.
There’s a lot of hype around DHM because it’s been shown by studies to speed up alcohol breakdown. This is pretty important when it comes to hangovers as the faster alcohol is cleared from your system, the fewer the side effects from its toxic by-products.
Prickly pear extract
Prickly pear has been shown to reduce the symptoms in one relatively small study. The results are promising but more research is needed to really confirm whether it works.
People have been using milk thistle to reduce hangover symptoms for a long time. The reason why is that it’s a powerful antioxidant which has been shown to reduce liver inflammation.
Aside from the fact B-vitamins are important for most metabolic functions in your body, when it comes to hangovers prevention they are particularly crucial. The reason is, they are the precursors of the main enzymes used by your liver to break down alcohol and therefore help in boosting normal liver function.
Alcohol is a diuretic so it makes you urinate more fluid than you are consuming. With this, you also lose essential minerals and salts. We like to see the inclusion of magnesium as it’s well known that alcohol can deplete this essential mineral.
N- Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
This amino acid is used by your liver to produce glutathione which is known as the body’s “master antioxidant”.
When it comes to hangovers, nausea is arguably one of the worst symptoms you can have. Therefore we feel that ginger is a key ingredient in any hangover supplement as it’s one of the only research-backed natural anti sickness remedies there is.
Turmeric is used worldwide as a natural anti-inflammatory and is commonly used for joint/muscle pain. It can be helpful for reducing these symptoms in addition to hangover-related headache.
This ingredient doesn’t have any role in preventing hangovers. It’s known as a bioavailability enhancer which means its only function is to increase the absorption of the other ingredients in your supplement.
Piperine is particularly powerful when it comes to increasing the absorption of B-vitamins and turmeric from your gut.
How do you take Flyby?
The manufacturers recommend taking 3 capsules before your first drink and 3 after your last. This is a pretty standard dosing regimen that most hangover supplements follow.
The main role of the ingredients is to prevent alcohols negative effects in the first instance. Once the hangover has set in, there’s no way back.
Are There Any Side-Effects?
Flyby Is made with natural ingredients that are deemed by the FDA as acceptable to include in a food supplement. Therefore the ingredients are safe to take.
However, everyone is different and some people may still have allergies or intolerances to certain ingredients. It’s always important to read through the ingredient list carefully to see if there is anything included that may not sit well with you.
Most cheap supplements use artificial flow agents like magnesium stearate. Side effects to supplements usually occur as a result of a reaction to these. We are happy to see that Flyby uses rice powder as a flow agent which is a natural alternative.
At the time of writing, Flyby scores 4.5 stars out of 5 on Amazon.
Many of the positive reviews explain that Flyby has worked quite well, particularly when it comes to reducing hangover headaches.
Furthermore, many users found that the product to generally make them feel better after drinking than if they hadn’t taken Flyby
Most of the negative or critical reviews on Amazon simply state that the product doesn’t work very well.
This might be explained by the users not having taken the full dose or perhaps expecting to feel better results than they did.
Lastly, a few users complained that Flyby gave them acid reflux or abdominal discomfort.

Anything else to consider?
Hangover supplements like Flyby should be seen as an aid to your hangover prevention ritual. You’ll still need to drink plenty of water and ensure you have a full meal before you start drinking alcohol.
If you’re planning to test hangover pills out by getting absolutely trashed, you’re likely to be disappointed by their effects.
We don’t currently rate Flyby as one of the best products on the market because they miss out some key ingredients that are essential in a hangover supplement.
In addition, we really don’t like to see the use of a proprietary blend as we don’t know exactly how much of each ingredient is included.
Generally, when it comes to supplements transparency is key for us.
That being said, it’s still a decent product with many good reviews online.
